This page is dedicated to the pets that we have for adoption. The majority of our pets come to us from the Kittery, Eliot, and York ACO's as strays who have been rescued from an uncertain life out doors fending for themselves. With their stray backgrounds we make every effort to get them into loving, caring indoor pet friendly homes. Our goal is to make sure that the remainder of their lives are safe, warm, and well cared for, because of that we do reserve the right to turn down adoptive homes that may not be particularly well suited for certain pets.
Feline
*Fluffy Domestic Longhair Spayed Female aprox. 8 years Declawed front paws
~Fluffy is a grey with long hair, very fluffy like her name! She is our independent woman! She would like a quiet home with no kids or other animals.
*Smuckers
~Smuckers is a domestic long hair, grey cat. She is a spayed female. Smuckers was found with the colony of feral cats from Eliot. She is very scared, but once she gets use to you she is so sweet! She probably wouldn't do well with dogs since she is so scared they may make her hide all day. But she is fine with other cats. She would like someone with some time to spend loving her!
Ginger
Ginger is a 5 year old, spayed female! She is very friendly! She was surrendered because she was urinating around the house. Since she was surrenderd she has been adopted out twice and returned both times because of her inappropriate urination. She has been tested and treated for Urinary Crystals. We feed her Science Diet c/d, and she would need to remain on this food for life. We feel she was urinating inappropriately because she doesn't want to share her house with any other pets. We would only consider adopting her out to a home without other pets.
Topanga
She is an 11 years old spayed female. She looks like a maine coon cat, with long tan colored hair. Though she may be feisty at times, she also quite sweet. Topanga would prefer a home with no children under 10, since she was surrendered to KAH because she was scratching and biting her elderly owners on occasion. She does not like dogs, and can be ok with other cats.
Barney
Barney is about 5-6 years old, large white and brown tiger short haired, neutered male. He was a stray who was brought to KAH. He has already been adopted out once and brought back because he was attacking the family members unexpectedly. He has on occasion done that here as well, but we think hes being more playful then hurtful. Because of this we would prefer he go to a home with no children under 16. Otherwise he am very nice and will do anything for a snack!
Graeme'
Graeme is an old lady; we arent sure of her exact age but thinks she probably around 10 years. She looks and feels ancient! She is a short haired, black and white cat, very tiny probably only 5-6lbs. We are trying to fatten her up; when she came in she was very skinny! Graeme LOVES people, and just want a couch to curl up on for her remaining time on earth!
~Bugs
Bugs is a 1 year old neutered male. He is a domestic medium hair, red and white colors (very unique looking). He also has a short tail, it's probably a little less the half the length of a normal cat tail! He is very friendly, loves to play!!
We do have some kittens right now, as well as some other adult cats that just came in that we don't have as much info on just yet. Please call to inquire or stop by to see what who we have in our retail section!
We currently have a handful of feral cats. They are not all friendly right now but might eventually be with some patience. We would be willing to adopt them out as barn cats if the circumstance is right.
Canine
~ We do have a Beagle here, female a little older. She would need someone with time to run and play with her! Due to the nature of beagles she would be best suited for someone who has a fenced in yard!
All adoptable animals are up-to-date on vaccines and if old enough, spayed and neutered.
:
If you see a pet you are interested please call to set up a time to come and meet them.
Our adoptions are on a first come first serve basis.
We require you fill out an adoption application.
We do have a 3 day waiting period for the application to be reviewed, as well as to make sure that you and your family are ready to bring a new pet into your home; it is a big commitment that shouldn't be taken lightly.
After reviewing the application we will give you a call to let you know if you have been approved, and pending approval set up a time to come and pick up your new pet.
We offer a 10 day free exam with one of our Veterinarians to go over any questions you may have about your new pet, as well as update any vaccines that are due.
If your pet has not be spayed or neutered we do require a $50.00 deposit that will be put towards your surgery here.
