Comments :  The "rest of the story" for all who read Elizabeth's post. Elizabeth's dog was visiting in this area and she came to our hospital because her own Veterinary Hospital was about 45 minutes north of here. We examined her dog made a treatment plan and recommendation, unfortunately finances sometimes do get in the way so we offered a payment plan known as Care Credit. FYI, this is a great plan for folks with unexpected veterinary or human dental emergencies offered by many practices for just these types of situations. Elizabeth's dog was determined not to be in any immediate danger and she ultimately chose to take the dog home and have her own veterinarian see the dog. It is unfortunate that the result was loss of life but we did offer to treat and a payment plan. We care about all our clients and their pets and are deeply saddened when we can not help meet their needs for what ever the reason.

Comments :  recently my 8 yo. Beagle had been in labor for 3 days.Out of concern I brought her to KAH since i was not able to meet thier potential fees they refused to treat my dog.I don't expect a hand out, my dismay is that there is no program to assist an animals onwer financialy. When i see a practice that has crossed such a line that they let an animal suffer or die, this is deeply disturbing....My beagle's puppy was still born. This may not have happend if she was treated.Where is the compassion and careing???

Comments :  We adopted a 4 yr old dog from your facility a month ago. We are first time pet owners and decided to adopt an older dog and are very happy with the new addition to our family. She is a great little dog and the transition to our home has been virutally seemless. We spent over a week visiting her while she was been boarded at KAH and we were very impressed with the high quality of care and attention she recieved from staff. The staff also took the time to answer any questions and concerns. We strongly reccomend adopting an older dog from KAH. She has brought so much joy to our family.

Comments :  I adopted my cat from KAH back in 2001, and he has added so much joy to our family. He was abondoned by his only owner and was a totally indoor cat, which is what I wanted. They were so sweet, I had just lost my Smokey and was not sure if I wanted another cat. But one look at Scarfie and I was in love. They made me wait, to make sure I was committed, and boy am I. He is part Maine coon and needs groomed, and they have taken care of him. Thanks for giving my family such a wonderful addition. I work for GMH Military Housing and recommend KAH on a daily basis for our families new to the area for their grooming and adoption needs. Thank you

Comments :  I recently adopted a kitten from Kittery Animal Hospital, and I must say that of all the places I visited looking for potential pets, KAH was the most friendly and spent the most time with me in helping with the adoption. The kitten "Buttons" has fit in perfectly into my home and I am looking forward to her receiving care from KAH! Thanks!

Comments :  What attracted me the most to Kittery Animal Hospital when I first brought my dogs there was the convenience of veterinarian services, grooming, and boarding in one facility. I travel frequently for work. And when I do, I can board my dogs there knowing they will be walked through the "Playtime" program, and schedule shot-up-dates, a Dr.'s exam if one of them is exhibiting a problem, and can also schedule grooming if a haircut is due. Truly a multi-tasker's dream. But what really keeps me coming back is the quality of care my dogs recieve, as well as the staff's friendliness and sincere love of animals. KAH went above and beyond with the care of a senior dog I lost shortly after New Year's two years ago. They even called me on New Year's Day to give me an up-date on her condition. And when I made the decision to bring a new dog home, they introduced me to a puppy I named "Oliver" through their adoption program. My dogs actually get excited when I pull into the KAH parking lot. Sometimes I think they like the KAH staff better than they like me! And I always have peace of mind when I bring them there that they are well taken care of.
